How food affects hormones
Hormones and Health: The Power of Diet
Dr. Barnard received his medical training at George Washington University School of Medicine in Psychiatry, where he began to explore food and diets and more latterly, veganism. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a lifetime member of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Barnard founded the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) in 1985 – because of his desire to promote preventive medicine. As president of that committee he is involved in numerous programmes advocating greater application of preventive medicine, good nutrition, and higher ethical standards in research.
This presentation was recorded live at the Marlene Meyerson JCC – in it Dr. Barnard discusses the science behind how foods affect our hormones and our health. He also shares how common hormone-related conditions like, infertility, weight gain, menopausal symptoms, type 2 diabetes, acne, breast and prostate cancers and thyroid problems, can all be affected by and improved by simple dietary changes. Some valuable information… well worth watching.
